Andres Iniesta is expected to sign for Chongqing Dangdai Lifan this summer.

The 33-year-old will go down as one of the finest players of his generation, a key part of the Barcelona team that has enjoyed unparalleled success under Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique and now Ernesto Valverde.

Iniesta will win La Liga for the ninth time this season, taking his haul of club trophies to 30. He also scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final and was part of the winning Spain team at Euro 2008 and 2012. The playmaker also won a number of individual awards, as well as coming second, third and fourth in the Ballon d'Or.

But this summer he will leave Catalunya behind to move to the Chinese Super League.

And the team that has won the race to sign him is understood to be Chongqing Dangdai Lifan, owned by Jiang Lizhang.

Lizhang made headlines in England last year by hiring Tony Adams as manager of Granada, a Spanish football club he owns. The 36-year-old billionaire also boasts stakes in Italian club Parma and NBA franchise the Minnesota Timberwolves.
